Bogota robber frog

The robber frogs lay eggs on land, when the eggs hatch tiny frogs emerge, perfect replicas of their parents. This form of reproduction known as direct development allows the frogs to breed in the absence of standing water. As a result this group of frogs are widely distributed. This individual was found at nearly 4,000 m asl.
